H.E. U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for Ministry of International Cooperation and Chairman of the Task Force for the facilitation of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre received Cambodia Delegation led by H.E. Dr. KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair

H.E. U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for the Ministry of International Cooperation and Chairman of the Task Force for the facilitation of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre received Cambodia Delegation led by H.E. Dr. KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair at 11:45 hrs on 21 April 2022 at the Ministry of International Cooperation, Nay Pyi Taw.
The Meeting was attended by H.E. U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Directors General from ASEAN Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the call, H.E. U Ko Ko Hlaing said that Myanmar expects patience, understanding and strong support from ASEAN for the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus and expressed Myanmar’s willingness and readiness for the effective implementation. Union Minister then suggested that both ASEAN and Myanmar need to emphasize purely on the humanitarian assistance and to be practical in implementation of Five-Point Consensus. Union Minister also reiterated that Myanmar has been prioritizing no one left behind policy and conducting vaccination programs for EAOs as well and therefore, all of the works and initiatives come from ASEAN and External Partners should be in line with the process and framework of Myanmar’s Government.
H.E. Dr KUNG Phoak expressed sincere appreciation to Myanmar’ Government for the arrangement of the visit and candid and frank discussions at the meetings. Dr. KUNG Phoak informed that Cambodia respects Myanmar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and has been finding all possible ways to assist Myanmar not with the intention to interfere in other country’s domestic problems. He then said that Cambodia has the similar historical background with Myanmar and understands the complexity of internal problems and Cambodia is ready to assist Myanmar in the way both ASEAN and Myanmar are comfortable. He further stated that Cambodia is willing to reinstate ASEAN’s Integration with the participation of all member states in every platform as well as to show others that Myanmar has been accommodating in all possible ways and means for the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus.
